Katelyn Urbanski

Driven by storytelling, strategy, and social impact.

About

My name is Katelyn Urbanski and I am currently a senior at Colorado State University pursuing two B.A.s, one in political science and the other in journalism and media communications. My academic career has focused primarily on newswriting and editing, as well as policy research and analysis. I've been working as a copy editor for The Rocky Mountain Collegian for the past two years, ensuring published content adheres to AP style guidelines, as well as verifying the accuracy and relevance of numerous articles. Additionally, I worked on a local election campaign to help raise awareness and funding, which enhanced my community outreach and management skills. One day I hope to take my experience and lessons and apply them to policy work with nonprofits and media outlets to better the communities that we surround ourselves with.
